We are thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of Gracie Barra Romeo Jiu-Jitsu on November 3rd.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Romeo community — one built on the foundations of discipline, respect, and the spirit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As part of the world-renowned Gracie Barra family, our mission is to make Jiu-Jitsu accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience.

Carrying on a Proud Martial Arts Legacy

Romeo, Michigan has a rich history of martial arts, and we are honored to continue that tradition by introducing the Gracie Barra system — a structured approach to personal growth through Jiu-Jitsu. Under the guidance of Professor Murilo Nogueira, our head instructor from Goiânia, Brazil, students will experience authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that focuses on self-defense, fitness, and personal development.

At Gracie Barra Romeo, we are more than a martial arts school — we are a community. Our students, families, and instructors work together to help one another grow stronger both on and off the mats.

This Week’s Focus: Week 6 of the Gracie Barra Curriculum

We are launching our first week of classes with Week 6 of our 16-Week Gracie Barra Curriculum, focusing on:

  • Headlocks – Learning escapes, defenses, and control

  • Hip Throws – Developing balance, timing, and precision

  • Back & Turtle Position – Mastering control and transitions

Our curriculum ensures that every student — beginner or advanced — trains with purpose, mastering essential skills in a progressive and organized way. It is one of the many elements that make Gracie Barra different from other martial arts schools.
